Getting started
Bg Remover works straight from your browser — no account or download required.
- Go to the upload area on the homepage and drag in an image, or click to browse your files.
- Supported formats are PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WEBP, up to 10MB per file.
- Processing runs locally in your browser using an on-device AI model — your image is never uploaded to a server.
- Once processing finishes, click Download PNG to save your transparent result.

Troubleshooting
Processing seems stuck on "Loading AI model…"
The first time you use a tool, your browser downloads a small AI model, which can take longer on a slow connection. It's cached afterward, so future images process much faster. If it's stuck for more than a minute, refresh the page and try again.
I got an "Unsupported format" error
Bg Remover accepts PNG, JPG, JPEG, and WEBP files up to 10MB. Convert other formats (like HEIC or TIFF) to one of these before uploading.
My download button doesn't do anything
Check that your browser isn't blocking automatic downloads or pop-ups for this site. Downloads are generated locally, so no data is sent anywhere — your browser just needs permission to save the file.
The result doesn't look quite right
Results are best on clear, well-lit photos with a distinct subject. Busy backgrounds, low resolution, or motion blur can affect accuracy — try a sharper source image, or use the Object Eraser to touch up small leftover areas.
